Lidi Island is one of the islands in the Phetra National Marine Park, about 6 km offshore so to get there, you need one of the local boats.

The island has a good harbour and it’s an easy walk onto the island along a long stone bridge that takes you past large rock formations and into the natural calm of the island’s wide beach. At the end of the beach is a pristine mangrove forest which is a source of knowledge about the mangroves and its sea creatures.

When the tide goes out, you can gaze on the copper - colored rocks that are more than 400 million years old and walk across the rock pools filled with soft corals, the flowers of the sea, which provide homes for the lively cartoon fish. Don’t forget to take out a kayak and paddle your way through the natural beauty of the mangroves.
Koh Lidi is part of the Satun Geo Park, the prehistoric lands that date back over 500 million years.

At the far end of the island is a small hill, a prehistoric remnant, which you can reach at low tide. The fusulinids in the limestone are from the Carboniferous and Permian periods and this is the only place in Thailand where they are found. Other fossil find s of brachiopods, sea anenomes and corals make this spot a natural classroom. You can book a long-tailed boat to take you to Koh Lidi at Phetra National Marine Park.
